The incident that I mentioned in the earlier section of the article about “how did Squidward die” is just a “creepypasta” and is not in any way – a real episode that happened.
Now, if you do not know what a Creepypasta is, then let me enlighten you. This are user-generated horror theories and images that are shared on the internet. They are just there for the added creepy factor and do not necessarily contain any truth to it. They are entirely fiction and are conjured up by the fans to make things more interesting.
Coming to the topic of SpongeBob Squarepants – it is only a children’s show! There’s no way that any such incident like “Squidward’s Suicide” is going to be shown on a kid’s channel. But with that being said, one cannot deny the fact that these are interesting to watch/get to know about.

1. Mr. Krabs Gets Murdered
This theory spread among the fan community like wildfire when a pdf document went viral. The document was titled “The Trial Of SpongeBob”. The document highlighted the details of how Mr. Krabs’ body was found in the kitchen of his restaurant.
Moreover, the document also had witness statements which indicate the fact that the character of SpongeBob is more likely to be the killer.
2. Being Trapped In Purgatory
There’s another one that suggests that the character of “Spongebob” in reality got trapped in purgatory – which is why he is living his life in Bikini Bottom. This particular theory also suggests that SpongeBob’s never-ending optimism is because he uses it as a coping mechanism to deal with his existence in purgatory.

3. A Post-Apocalyptic World
This is another one of those “theories” that are supposedly true. It suggests that the setting of Bikini Bottom and the way they are living their life showcases a post-apocalyptic world.
The evidence of this is the decaying form of underwater-scape that they are living in. The beings that live underwater (SpongeBob and his friends) are all mutated beings.
Bikini Bottom came out as a result of a nuclear disaster and the living characters are all trying to stay optimistic in spite of their grim reality.
4. SpongeBob Was Born As A Result Of Radiation
This one is more absurd than the theory of “how did Squidward die”. This theory suggests that the sea creatures were born out of radiation exposure. Bikini Atoll is the place where nuclear experiments were conducted in the 1940s/50s.
The radiation from these tests then caused the marine creatures in Bikini Atoll to mutate and then take on human forms.
5. The Seven Deadly Sins
This is another one of those dark theories. It suggests that the characters of SpongeBob Squarepants represent the seven deadly sins. This only applies to the main character of the show though (except for the character of SpongeBob)!
